Learn a brand new choreography that seamlessly fuses belly dance movements within a contemporary dance framework. This choreography includes a variety of turns, foot patterns and isolation layers to create a dynamic fusion of dance styles, yet leaves room for personal interpretation and stylisation. Dancers will be sent videos to study in advance so that during the workshop time we can stage, clean and run the dance to be ready for performance.

Please note: This class requires commitment from you: The pre-requisite to being able to take part in the show-back is practice of the combinations/choreography prior to the event, so that the workshop can be used for “fine-tuning” and spacing. To this end, a private FB group will be created to communicate the necessary!

This is an event held by an internationally renowned teacher and, whilst we aim to provide content for more advanced participants, we also want to stay true to our mission of inclusivity. To this end, we strive to work with instructors that are capable of multi-level classes.

A Boho Blade workshop focused on getting out of the mid-land and moving bravely into the arms over your head land when working with a sword balanced on your head. This workshop also will introduce some nifty arm patterns and unique ways to use your arms in your sword work in true Boho Blade style.

This technique and drilling-intense class will focus on combining smooth and effortless looking pathways contrasted with surprising and unexpected pops and locks. After this high energy class, students will walk away with several versatile combinations that work great for dancing to electronic music or drum solos.

Embrace the perfect darkness of space and be inspired by the beauty and wonder of galaxies, nebulae, black holes and supernovae. Drawing on movements from fusion bellydance and beyond, this choreography will explore the ways in which our bodies – themselves made of stardust – can evoke the resplendence of the universe’s celestial bodies. With optional performance opportunity.

Kami will share some of her new combinations and movement phrases that she has created for her new dance program called Krysalis. Krysalis focuses on the style of Contemporary Fusion Belly Dance, which combines strong leg and footwork with fluidity in the spine and precision in the torso. It emphasizes strength and flexibility, rhythmic and musical phrasing, and most importantly, self-expression. These movement phrases are accessible to every dancer and provide freedom to explore your own personal style.
